How can I pay my rent?

You can pay in a number of ways, payment can be made using cash, cheque or postal order at the cash office at head office.

You can post cheques and postal orders to head office or give them to your housing and support officer. Make sure you get a receipt.

You can pay at any HSBC bank using payment book. To obtain a book, call Birju Mehta, Rent Management Officer on (0116) 261 4632.

You can pay by standing order direct to ASRA.

You can pay using your new rent payment card. You can use your card, free of charge, at all POST OFFICES and any outlets which display either PAYzone or PayPoint sign. This will give you more flexibility in paying your rent due to the various locations and longer opening hours, including evenings and weekends.

How to use your Payment Card

  • Always take your card with you when you make a payment. You cannot make a payment without it.
  • You can pay as much as you like but you should always pay the rent due.
  • Hand you card to the counter staff each time you pay.
  • You will be given a receipt each time you pay, keep this in a safe place as it is a record of payments you have made.
  • Payments are credited to your rent account within 24 hours. If you pay by cheque at the Post Office please make it payable to Post Office Ltd and write your rent account number on the back of the cheque.

What if I can’t afford to pay my rent?

Contact us, we can help you. We may be able to offer you advice on claiming benefits or direct you to specialist advisors. If you don’t qualify for benefit then we can make an agreement which is affordable to you.
