Sanctuary Housing has just been awarded a £30m project from Queen Margaret University College (QMUC) to develop and construct 800 new halls of residence at the college’s brand new campus in East Lothian, Scotland.
Sanctuary Group, one of the UK’s leading housing associations, will develop this major contract on part of the university’s new 35 acre academic site at Craighall, Musselburgh in a scheme which is designed to house students in contemporary, state-of-the-art accommodation.
Sanctuary’s appointed contractor, Miller Construction, commenced work on site on 16th January 2006.
In addition to the initial construction work, Sanctuary will also provide (through its facilities management division Sanctuary Management Services) day-to-day FM and maintenance services for the halls of residence over a 35 year contract term which will generate further income for the organisation.
