Aerial upgrades continue

Digital UK

Sanctuary continues to upgrade communal (or shared) television aerials so that you can receive existing television services once they change from analogue to digital. With over 1,000 installations completed in the south west, we are now looking at upgrading communal aerials in the Midlands.

Hayes Court in Bristol has recently been upgraded the new installations mean that all tenants will be able to subscribe to SKY and Sky+ if they wish.

Over the next few months, Sanctuary’s appointed contractor Avonline, will carry out surveys, consult with residents and install new aerials in the Midlands.

Approximately one month before the survey, residents will receive a letter from Sanctuary introducing Avonline. Avonline representatives always carry jointly branded (Sanctuary and Avonline) photo ID cards which they should show you whenever they call. Should they need access to your home they will push a card through your door asking that you telephone them to arrange a suitable appointment.

What will the upgrade cost?

The cost of the upgrade and associated maintenance will be spread over several years and we anticipate that it will result in a small increase in your service charges. This will not be applied until the next review after installation at your scheme.

What if you don’t have a communal aerial?

If you don’t receive your TV signal through a communal aerial you will need to make your own arrangements otherwise you won’t be able to receive transmissions once the changeover takes place. You can either upgrade your aerial, buy a Freeview set top box (or a TV with integrated Freeview) or install a Sky satellite system. Please remember to seek permission before installing any new satellite dishes or aerial equipment. Whilst we would not unreasonably refuse your request, there may be planning issues that need to be considered.
