Anderston Glasgow tenants say YES
 

Scottish Homes tenants in Anderston in Glasgow have voted by a clear majority to transfer their homes to Sanctuary Scotland . In a high turnout of 81.5% of the tenants, 73.6% voted for the transfer to go ahead. The transfer is now expected to take place in early summer, and will signal the beginning if redevelopments of the Anderston estate with new housing being provided for all tenants and residents who want to remain in the community.

Ian Williamson, Chief Executive of Scottish Homes, said: “I am delighted with the result, which follows a long and detailed consultation with tenants. The regeneration will bring major investment to the Anderston estate and residents will all be able to live in modern, warm, comfortable, secure and affordable homes.”

Positive result at Anderston signals the go agead for redevelopments of the estate


Gordon Laurie , Director of Sanctuary Scotland said: "Everyone at Sanctuary Scotland is delighted by the positive result in the Anderston transfer ballot. We see this vote as a very positive endorsement of our plans and we will be working closely with tenants over the next few years to transform the area.

"The turnout of over 80% shows how important this vote was to the tenants. Sanctuary Scotland will now work to repay their trust by building modern homes in a super 21st century community that everyone in Anderston, and Glasgow, will be proud of."
