Colouring-in was the order of the day for Sanctuary Hereward director Lisa Bek during a visit to Barney Bear Pre-School in Ely.
The pre-school looks after children aged between three and fours and is part of a wide range of clubs and services that take place at the Barns Community Rooms - a community facility managed by Sanctuary Hereward, part of Sanctuary Group.
Lisa spent a morning with the children and staff to get a better understanding of the work carried out at the club and took the opportunity to lend staff a helping hand.
Barney Bear Pre-School follows the Early Years Foundation Curriculum and is regulated by OFSTED (Office for Standards in Education).
The Community Rooms, based on Ely’s High Barns estate, are used for a variety of activities including an after-school club, summer play scheme and parent and toddler sessions.
Said Lisa: "I was delighted to be able to help out at the Pre-School. The children were all very happy and that is a result of the fantastic atmosphere and care the staff provide."
Staff from the Pre-School were very pleased with their newest volunteer, with one commenting: "Lisa did a great job, she got on very well and the kids really warmed to her."
