First Anniversary Celebrated in Style at Residents Day

Rochford Housing resident at Residents Day

Rochford Housing Association celebrated its first birthday recently, with a resident’s day at Greensward Academy in Hockley on Saturday 27th September 2008.

The event, which celebrated the first anniversary of the association taking over ownership and management of Rochford District Councils’ housing stock was officially opened by chairperson of the Rochford Housing Board, Maureen Vince.

All Rochford Housing Association tenants were invited to the celebrations, where amongst other activities they were able to enjoy giant puzzles, mini ten pin bowling, face painting, football coaching and a fantastic children’s entertainer as well as a space hopper race at the end of the day.

The day also provided tenants the opportunity to talk to staff, give their views on all aspects of housing in the district and get further information on Rochford Housing’s five year plan to spend £27m to bring all of its properties up to the Rochford standard, and find out what improvements they could expect.

Simon Clark, managing director of Rochford Housing said "This was a fabulous event celebrating the Associations first anniversary and showcasing to our residents what we will be delivering to them over the coming five years. It's great to demonstrate examples of the promises we made and have a day when we can thank tenants for their support"

In addition to the associations own information stalls, it invited its partner organisations Connaught Partnerships Ltd, P.H. Jones and local organisations which included the local Police, Rochford District Council, Connexions, Rayleigh R.A.V.S., Citizen Advice Bureau and Family Mosaic to take part in the celebrations.
