"I was very pleased to visit the service and to see its continued success"
Foyer manager Stuart Kichenside said: “This was a very important visit and the young people and staff were all very excited about meeting our guests.
“We enjoyed showing them the fantastic facilities and the good work going on here and think they were impressed.”
Following the visit Mr Bailey commented: “I was very pleased to visit the service and to see its continued success in providing opportunities for young homeless people.”
Brighton and Hove Foyer works closely with Brighton and Hove City Council as part of the Integrated Support Pathway, enabling homeless people to move towards independent living.
Opened in 1998 by HRH Prince Charles, it provides accommodation and support services for up to 50 youngsters.
Brighton and Hove is one of three Sanctuary foyers and in 2006 was named one of the best foyers in England after achieving the highest marks in the country on the Foyer Federation’s Accreditation Scheme.
In addition to accommodation, residents have access to a wide range of support services to help them work towards independent living, as well as educational opportunities and training.
