Sanctuary Housing Association welcomes East Anglian based housing association Hereward Housing who joined the Group on 1st April. Hereward will take on the management of over 2,300 Sanctuary owned homes in Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Essex in addition to their own stock of over 4,000 properties in Ely.
Sanctuary Housing will continue to own the homes, while Hereward will take on responsibility for all management services on behalf of Sanctuary. The objective of the change is to improve services for tenants of both organisations and bolstering a joint development programme to provide many more affordable homes throughout the East of England. 60 staff currently employed by Sanctuary Housing have transfered to Hereward under TUPE* arrangements.
They will continue to provide services to our residents in the region from our existing office in Ipswich as before. The only difference being that they will report to Hereward instead.
Hereward’s Chief Executive, Nick Abbey said,
“This is an exciting time for all of us. We are determined to maintain and improve our services for both Hereward and Sanctuary tenants and leaseholders. We will be increasing the housing we are responsible for by 50% and hope to step up our development programme to provide much needed affordable housing in the region.”
