Darren Newman has been appointed as Sanctuary Group’s new Director of Works.
As Director of Works, Darren is responsible for the internal maintenance services of the Group and in particular, delivering a three star responsive repairs service which anticipates changes in the market and reflects the needs of Sanctuary’s customers.
As well as managing existing services, Darren’s role will involve establishing an exemplar service in the West Midlands which will in turn provide a model for the rest of the Group.
Darren, who will report to Ian McDermott, Group Director – Property Services – and member of Group Executive, joins Sanctuary after holding positions at Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council, Waterloo Housing Association and most recently as Commercial Director of Operations for facilities management firm Lak-Ler Birmingham Ltd.
Darren said: “With maintenance being such a key issue for Sanctuary this role is designed to ensure the organisation continues to meet the varying needs of its customers and I look forward to taking up the mantle and providing the Group with a cost effective delivery of all maintenance services.”
