Sanctuary Shaftesbury residents and staff helped celebrate a fantastic community action day at the Meadowvale Estate, Dursley, Gloucester recently.
Around 50 people attended the event which raised awareness of crime prevention and helped bring the local community together.
Staff from Gloucestershire Constabulary were on hand to mark phones, bikes and valuables and teach residents how to reduce the chance of theft and improve chances of recovery.
Sanctuary Shaftesbury staff and residents, police community support officers, neighbourhood wardens, the GL11 community group and local neighbourhood watch groups were all on hand to enjoy the festivities.
Young resident, Lucy, from Meadowvale said: “Today was wicked, I had my bike marked, and got lots of other ideas about how to stop crime. And the burger was delicious!”
Peter Brierley, Sanctuary’s community development officer said:
“Sanctuary works in partnership with hundreds of organisations every year. The success of our projects, and community days like this is down to working with these partners for the benefit of the local community.
”This has been a thoroughly successful day and I would like to thank everyone who helped with its organisation.”
