Work has begun on Sanctuary Housing Group’s new 118 bed nursing care centre at Hatfield.
Peterborough-based company Baxter & King Construction will build the £6.5 million project and work is expected to be completed by May 2008. The new centre will create 100 full and part-time jobs.
The facility, run by Sanctuary Care, will provide care for older people needing nursing, intermediate services and dementia services, as well as housing a domiciliary resource base from which Sanctuary Home Care will support people in the area. There will also be a training centre on site.
The five-storey building is at the prestigious Comet Square, which is a brand new redevelopment of the former Hatfield Aerodrome.
