If the majority of tenants decide to transfer 1,700 properties from the local authority, then a new housing association, Rochford Housing Association, a subsidiary of Hereward Housing, will own and manage the properties in Rochford and Rayleigh. This stock transfer is expected to happen in spring 2007. Members have already been identified to fill the eight council and tenant places on the board of Rochford Housing Association, whose first meeting took place on 19th June.
