David Bennett, Sanctuary’s Group Managing Director, said: “We are thrilled to have been awarded Energy Efficiency accreditation, proving Sanctuary’s commitment to the environment. We will continue to save energy and reduce carbon dioxide emissions and look forward to sharing ideas on best practice with other housing associations in future.”
The association will now benefit from guidance from independent assessors on improving energy preformance and membership to the Accredited Organisations Network – a forum for the exchange of information and discussion on matters of common interest.
Martin Fry, Associate Director of the EEAS said: “We are glad to have Sanctuary on board and this scheme shows that energy savings are real, measured and sustainable. It is the only award of its kind and reducing energy consumptions and carbon dioxide emissions demonstrates corporate responsibility.”
The accreditation process takes place every three years and Sanctuary will receive their certificate officially stating its accreditation at the EEAS annual awards ceremony on December 12 at the NEC in Birmingham.
