Susie scoops Agency for Community Empowerment award

Susie Cappello and Cllr Harrap

Sanctuary North tenant Susie Cappello is celebrating after passing the second part of her Tenant Participation Workout training course.

Susie, who lives in East Hull, was presented with a certificate to mark her success on Tuesday, 27th May at the East Yorkshire Tenants’ Forum at Beverley Leisure Centre.

Susie, a resident with Sanctuary for eight years and tenant board member for the last 18 months, received her award from East Riding of Yorkshire Councillor Richard Harrap, former Bridlington Mayor.

Run by Agency for Community Empowerment Limited (AfCE), the course, which is split into three sections, is designed to provide tenants with the relevant training that will help them play a key role in the regeneration and management of the neighbourhood in which they live.

Susie said: “The purpose of me taking this course was to equip myself to help other residents and I want to encourage them to do the same.

“By working with Sanctuary and other tenants we can all strive to achieving common goals which are beneficial for all parties involved.”

Susie will be studying for the third and final part of her training course later this year.
