“The standard of applicants was very high.."
A total of 27 applicants showed off their talents to members from the dance group, before five were selected to join the company.
The new dancers will now team up with members from 2FaCeD to begin rehearsals for the group’s forthcoming events including the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and UK tour which begins in September.
Tamsin Fitzgerald, director and choreographer for 2FaCeD DaNcE, said: “The standard of applicants was very high and it was a competitive experience for them all.
“It was a difficult choice to pick the five but the individual qualities each dancer will bring to the group is something very exciting.”
Sanctuary Housing is committed to providing creative opportunities which allow young people to fulfil their potential which is why it chose to sponsor 2FaCeD to the tune of £8,000. Using the funds, the dance company will continue in its efforts to actively engage with young people, help build self confidence and allow the youngsters to discover their creative talents in a fun environment.
