Ashley Cooper House is a purpose built registered residential care home for up to sixteen people with a physical and or learning disability. The aim of the service is to enable people with a disability to live as independently as their disability will allow. Accommodation is at ground floor level.

There is a project manager, two team leaders, two senior support workers, seven support workers, four night support workers and a handyman/driver.


Facilities
The home has attractive gardens and service users can access the gardens either from their bedrooms or via the communal lounge/dining area. The home is within easy reach of local amenities and is close to both bus, underground and train connections.

There are telephone and fax facilities and access to the Internet, furnished bedrooms, laundry facilities, meals (of which there are three cooked each day) are prepared both for and with service users; Support Staff assist service users with the cleaning of their living areas. 


Personal Care
Ashley Cooper House operates on a key-working system and each resident is assigned to a member of staff. Staff are responsible for supporting and encouraging individuals with everyday living skills and carrying out any personal care tasks.


Activities
Planned activities are carried out on a daily basis. service users are given the opportunity to choose what they would like to do each day and are encouraged to give feedback and suggestions on daily activities. The main emphasis however is on service users becoming involved in the community.


Residents Involvement
Residents are at the centre of everything within Ashley Cooper House. Residents have regular meetings where they are encouraged to participate in making decisions about the service. In addition, the home has a complaints procedure-a copy of which is available within the home, and a copy is given to each resident at the time of admission.


Staffing
All Sanctuary Care Homes are staffed 24 hours a day by suitably trained and experiences nursing and care staff.

All homes employ a head chef and experienced catering and domestic staff.

Staffing levels meet all the requirements set by CSCI.
