Our home accommodates both male and females of pensionable age.
The categories of registration are as follows: The number of persons for whom residential accommodation with both board and care is provided at any time shall not exceed 30.
Category of registration I (Elderly)
of whom 10 may be PH(E)
of whom 6 may be MP(E)
Broadmeadow Court has three lounges, a dining room and 30 bedrooms all of which are single rooms 18.09 square meters with en-suite facilities.

Facilities
Broadmeadow Court has 3 lounges/dining room which are all electrically heated. Service users are encouraged to use these public rooms, although staff always recognise personal choice.
Smoking is not allowed in the communal rooms, corridors or the lift and generally discouraged within the home. If people wish to smoke, their own bedroom is the only place available.
Broadmeadow Court is a purpose built home providing accommodation which is situated on three floors which offers specialist assisted bathing facilities on all floors. The Home is serviced by a hydraulic lift.
Each bedroom consists of:
- Single bed
- Bed linen/curtains
- One single wardrobe
- One (4 drawer) chest
- Bedside cabinet with a lockable drawer
- Comfortable chairs
- One fridge
- One bedside lamp
- TV and satellite points
- Telephone point - please note the full cost of a personal telephone has to be met by yourself

Activites
The Home’s policy on social activities etc. takes into account the service users’ interests, skills, experiences, personalities and medical condition. The Home offers a wide range of activities designed to encourage the service user to keep mobile and, most importantly, to take an interest in life.
Staff encourage and in certain instances help the service user to pursue their hobbies and interests. Service users can play the following games using the equipment that is designed for those with failing eyesight:
- Cards
- Bingo
- Draughts
- Gentle exercise
- Quizzes
Activities assisted by the Staff
- Chatting to individuals
- Going for walks
- Manicures
- Playing games
- Armchair exercises
- Reading letters/magazines/newspapers
- Helping to choose library books
- Music and singalongs
All outings are geared to the service users needs and capabilities and due to this numbers of service users attending any one outing are restricted. Examples of outings are:
- A drive around the countryside
- Visit to a garden centre
- Visit to a pantomime or play
- Pub lunches
Resident Involvement
We believe that personal choice is important, which is why we always try and involve residents in the decisions that affect them. Each resident has an individual care plan which we draw up after talking with you, your family or your advisors. Care plans cover the medical, social and emotional needs of the resident, and are regularly reviewed.

Staffing
All Sanctuary Care Homes are staffed 24 hours a day by suitably trained and experiences nursing and care staff.
All homes employ a head chef and experienced catering and domestic staff.
Staffing levels meet all the requirements set by the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI).
