Cranvale is a residential care home which not only holds an excellent with CSCI but has the stability of a dedicated staff group.
Cranvale is a registered care home for 40 frail, elderly people over the age of 65. The building comprises of two floors with several lounges, a communal dining room and a very large garden. There is 24hours care and support provided by a professional team who are trained and inducted following the TOPPS foundation programme and NVQ.
Cranvale aims to provide the highest standard of accommodation and professional support to enable residents to maintain their independence for as long as possible.

Facilities
The home comprises of 40 single bedrooms, none of which have any en suites but toilets are accessible on each floor. Bedrooms are furnished throughout with carpets and curtains, and can be personalised. All areas in the home have a call alarm system.
Bathrooms/shower lets are all provided with adequate safety handrails as well as easy access to one lift.
There are four bedrooms downstairs which are wheelchair accessible as well as a reliable call system. Safety mats are available for residents at risk of falls.
Daily choice of food is available with visual choices made available on each table – changes are also reflected on menu board.
All dietary needs are catered for with support offered from Host.
Personal Care
- Hairdresser twice a week and if requested at weekends
- Chiropodist available every 4-6 weeks with national health
- General practitioner visit as and when required with weekly surgery every Monday
- Optician visit as and when requested with annual screening.
- Dental visit as requested with annual screening
- Dietician/physiotherapist as requested.
Activities
An activity coordinator has recently been recruited with emphasis on promoting active living. The activity coordinator continues to carry out one to ones with residents according to their personal beliefs/choices/wants and needs basis. Records are completed and kept accurate for inspection purposes.
Cranvale has access to a minibus which is used weekly for local shopping an outings.
The home visits France every year at Christmas and has already had three annual holidays to Potters, (only 5 star complex in the country) and Warner’s.
Staff are encouraged to participate in social interaction with residents on daily basis.
Residents chair monthly meetings with guest speakers i.e. administrator/housekeeping supervisor/health & safety representative.
Residents' Involvement
Residents chair their own monthly meetings and annual meetings with relatives and friends are also held. Residents complete a monthly questionnaire regarding the quality of service they receive from both care staff and CaterPlus.
Feedback and action is then fed back at meetings.
Staffing
All Sanctuary Care Homes are staffed 24 hours a day by suitably trained and experiences nursing and care staff.
All homes employ a head chef and experienced catering and domestic staff.
Staffing levels meet all the requirements set by the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI).
