Don Thomson House is a residential care home registered for 28 older people. The building compromises two floors with communal dinning rooms and two communal lounges.
The home aims to provide the highest standard of accommodation and professional support to enable residents to maintain their independence for as long as possible in a friendly and relaxed setting.

Facilities
The home compromises single bed – sitting rooms with “en-suite” facilities and wash basins. Bedrooms are furnished including carpets and curtains and residents are encouraged to bring some personal items.
Activities
Everyone has the opportunity to participate in the social life of the home. Interests and hobbies are encouraged.
Personal Care
Staff are available to support residents who need assistance. Specialist equipment is on hand – eg baths, hoists etc to ensure the most appropriate help is given. Visitors to the home include a hairdresser and healthcare professionals. Key working of residents ensures “that personal touch”. Full hotel catering services are provided.
Residents' Involvement
Regular meetings with both residents and relatives enable direct influence by the residents. The views of visitors, common relatives and friends are always welcome; visits to the home are welcome at reasonable times.
Staffing
All Sanctuary Care Homes are staffed 24 hours a day by suitably trained and experiences nursing and care staff.
All homes employ a head chef and experienced catering and domestic staff.
Staffing levels meet all the requirements set by the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI).
