Sanctuary Care, a subsidiary of leading UK housing provider Sanctuary Group, is delighted to announce the appointment of Maria Parsons, a leading expert in the field of dementia care.

Maria, Executive Director at the London Centre for Dementia Care, has worked as a consultant for Sanctuary Care for three years and has now taken on the role of lead dementia advisor.

Maria will be responsible for developing a strategy for dementia care services within the organisation in line with the National Dementia Strategy. Her work will involve implementing a plan for staff training, developing policies, helping design new homes, researching and introducing new technology to enhance the lives of people living in Sanctuary’s care homes and those using its extra care and domiciliary care services.

She said: “I hope to make a difference to the quality of life of people receiving Sanctuary Care services through supporting staff and influencing policy.”

Steve Wood, managing director of Sanctuary Care, said: “We are thrilled to have Maria on board and look forward to utilising her expertise to further enhance dementia care provision within Sanctuary Care.”

Maria will continue to work part-time as the Executive Director of the London Centre for Dementia Care.
