Cowper Street is a residential care home registered for 25 older people. The building is on 3 floors access via a central lift. There is a small lounge on each floor with a large communal lounge and dining room on the ground floor.
The home aims to support and encourage each person to be as independent as possible and to achieve this, support is given on an individual basis via a care plan. We pride ourselves on providing the highest standard of accommodation and professional support.

Facilities
The home comprises of 25 single bed-sitting rooms with ‘en-suite’ facilities and washbasins. Bedrooms are furnished including carpets and curtains. Residents are encouraged to bring some personal items to their new home. There are assisted bathrooms on each floor and also a shower facility on the ground floor.
Activities
A wide range of activities take place at Cowper Street, chosen by the residents, and supported by the staff team. We have outside entertainers visit on a regular basis. We have a yearly outing funded by our Amenity Fund. We have regular fundraising to keep this fund healthy. Cowper Street also has at least one garden party or BBQ, again residents’ choice, each summer.
Staffing
24 hour support is given and provided by a professional well trained staff team. Medical support is given by doctors, district nurses and other specialised outside agencies. There is an alarm call system to summons assistance as required.
Residents' Involvement
Regular residents’ meetings are held with an open invitation for relatives to attend. Residents are encouraged to attend amenity fund meetings. User friendly questionnaires are available to comment on both care and catering standards. The views of the residents, relatives and friends are actively sought before and during CSCI inspections. Visitors to Cowper Street are always welcome and encouraged. We do not operate an appointment’s system for prospective resident’s relatives just a polite request that these are not at mealtimes, between 12noon to 1.30pm and 4.30 to 6.00pm.
