Shaftesbury House, High Street is registered with the Commission for Social Care Inspection to provide a residential care environment to 18 adults with learning disabilities.
Our aim is to support and encourage each person to be as independent as possible, and to achieve this, support is offered on an individual basis. Respecting rights to informed choice, privacy and independence, regardless of colour, creed or sexual orientation.
Facilities
We have four flats. All residents have their own room with wash basin facilities. Each flat has a kitchen, dining room, bathroom and private lounge. There is a Communal Lounge on the ground floor.
Activities
Keyworkers work closely with residents to enable them to make the best use of the services and facilities both in community and at High Street. Residents have a choice and are encouraged to purse their own interest and hobbies.
Staffing
Shaftesbury Court, High Street is supported by a committed staff team. We provide 24-hour care. Staff receive relevant training and regular supervision to support them in their role.
Staffing levels meet all the requirements set by the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI).
Personal care
Residents requiring assistance with personal hygiene will always be treated with dignity and respect giving particular attention to the closing of all doors whilst bathing, changing etc. and also for consultation with any other private affairs.
Residents Involvement
The Area Manager visits once a month and is available to speak to residents, in private if they wish to. The Manager will also meet with a resident privately if they wish to discuss any concern to them. Flat meetings are held monthly for residents to discuss any concerns they may have about their floor. The views of visitors, common relatives and friends are always welcome.
