The Manse is a registered residential care home for the frail elderly, located in the borough of Croydon. The home is a three story building with both lifts and stairways to all floors.

We aim to provide the highest standard of Care and accommodation for Service Users in a safe and homely environment.

We aim to stimulate and encourage Service Users towards individuality and general well being, whilst respecting their dignity, promoting their freedom of choice, independence, privacy, fulfilment and rights.

Facilities
At present there are 20 rooms, 18 singles and 2 doubles with en-suite facilities. Each floor has its own lounge and dining area. There is also a communal lounge on the ground floor.


Activities

Service Users are encouraged to participate in the daily activities of the home. Identified staff is professionally trained to perform various types of activities which will stimulate service Users interest. We employ outside specialist activity professionals to carry out activities several times each month. We also have regular outings to the local Theatre, church functions, Pub Lunches, visits to Brighton and other place of interest.


Personal Care
Personal Care is provided by a trained staff team with extra sensitivity to ensure that Service Users are treated with dignity and respect. This is a key aspect of personal care. We also promote and enable Independence and choice for Service Users.

We have a very active key working system which provides individualise care and support. This system ensures good continuity of care.


Residents involvement
Planned meeting are held on a monthly basis for Service Users. A designated member of staff and a volunteer from the Service Users chairs these meetings.
Planned meetings lead to Service Users empowerment enabling them to complain and exercise their rights for better service delivery. Service Users are involved in the decision- making process for the home. 


Staffing
All Sanctuary Care Homes are staffed 24 hours a day by suitably trained and experiences nursing and care staff.

All homes employ a head chef and experienced catering and domestic staff.

Staffing levels meet all the requirements set by the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI).
