Art for art's sake

When the members of an art group had to leave Littleport College because the charge for room hire was increased, Hereward was quick to step in with the offer of help.

And the members were delighted with the facilities available to them at Lavender House in Ely.

The group was given a light, airy room free of charge and has been meeting there for over a year.

Picture shows Residents and staff of Lavender House with art class members after the picture presentation.

They were so pleased that they decided to make a presentation of paintings they had created to staff and residents to thank them for their help.

Class tutor Ken Walters and member Pauline Sherwood organised the presentation and Pauline said: “We are so privileged to have this lovely room.”

Ken said: “There are a lot of members in the class and we decided we had to give something back to Lavender House for what they have done for us.”
