Residents have moved into their new home at Exning Court – Sanctuary Hereward’s first very sheltered and extra care scheme which coincides with the formation of the new subsidiary.
The activities of Sanctuary, Shaftesbury and Hereward in the East of England, London, and the South East have been combined to form Sanctuary Hereward. It is now Sanctuary Housing Group’s largest subsidiary managing over 20,000 properties.
Exning Court near Newmarket was officially opened on June 14th with residents moving in on Monday 25th June.
The scheme has 34 self-contained flats to rent to tenants living independently with a wide range of support from staff, who are on site 24 hours a day.
The £4.7 million project has been brought about thanks to a partnership with the George Gibson Foundation Trust, the Housing Corporation, Suffolk County Council and Forest District Council. MHA Care Group has been contracted by Suffolk County Council to provide care at the scheme.
Nick Abbey, Managing Director of Sanctuary Hereward, said: “This purpose-built scheme incorporates the very best in accommodation, care and support, while allowing our residents to live independently.
“We are thrilled that residents are settling well into their homes and we are sure that it will prove a great success.”
