I have been on the transfer list for some time now, how much longer will I need to wait?
The Marketing & Lettings staff will be able to make an individual assessment of whether you are likely to be made an offer of alternative accommodation within the next 2 years. This will depend on vacancy rates in your chosen re-location area, the size of property you need, your personal circumstances and how long you have been waiting.

How can I improve my chances of getting a transfer?
The more flexible you are about the location and type of property you want to move to the better your chances are of receiving an offer. The team can also give you information about alternative re-housing options such as home ownership and mutual exchanges.

Does having arrears affect my position for a transfer?
Yes, we will not usually make you an offer of alternative accommodation unless you agree to clear your arrears before your new tenancy starts. However, you should still apply for a transfer so that your individual circumstances can be assessed and you can join the waiting list. In the meantime you should contact us to make a repayment agreement.

Can you nominate me to another Landlord?
Like us, most landlords will prioritise helping their existing tenants before accepting nominations from other landlords. However, we can sometimes nominate you to another area if you need to move in order to give or receive family support, or because you work in that area. You can also apply directly to any local Council Housing Register.

Why has my position on the waiting list gone down?
Your position is determined by the date of your application. It can sometimes go down the list if an applicant who has been waiting longer than you decides to extend their areas of choice.
