How do I apply for Homestake?
Homestake is a ‘shared equity’ scheme which means that when you buy a home from Sanctuary Scotland, we share the cost of the property with you. So rather than you having to fund the whole cost of your house, we can pay up to 40% of its purchase price.

Do you have a minimum criteria for being admitted to your house waiting list?
The only criteria for admission to the list is that you are 16 years old or over. There is no other requirement for admission although being admitted to the list is not the same as being offered a house. Our current Lettings Policy is based on a points system and only where you have enough points, are top of the waiting list and a suitable house becomes available, will you be offered a house.

Can I buy my house?
As the Association has charitable status, any new tenants will not have the right to buy their house. However, some of our original tenants who transferred from Dundee City Council and Scottish Homes may have a ‘preserved’ right to purchase their home subject to the Right to Buy legislation.

For further information and advice, please contact us and a member of staff will be happy to discuss the matter further with you.
