Shiregreen teens are invited to get fit and healthy this spring through exciting football sessions from Sanctuary Housing and Forge Youth.
The free football takes place every Monday during term-time, from 6pm until 8pm at Concord Sports Centre. Teens aged 14-18 can get involved by just turning up to the sessions.
The football sessions form part of Sanctuary’s wider Love Sport initiative, which is taking place in neighbourhoods around the country and aims to engage more than 2,250 residents in sport and fitness activities.
Sanctuary’s financial commitment to the five-year programme has been matched by Sport England, through National Lottery investment, to help deliver the sessions.
“Developing a range of sporting skills”
Sanctuary’s neighbourhood partnerships manager, Melanie King, said: “The sessions will be taking place until December and the participants are developing a range of sporting skills.
“No previous experience is necessary so why not come along and join in with the football fun?”
