Celebrating resident involvement in Chester

More than 60 community-minded Sanctuary Housing residents enjoyed a special event celebrating their efforts and achievements over the past year.

The annual Resident Review is a chance for Sanctuary’s resident involvement team in Chester to say thank you to the groups and individuals who volunteer their time to help shape and improve services.

This year’s event, held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, saw presentations from Pennysmart, Chester Voluntary Action and The Welcome Network about their work in the community and the benefits and impact of their partnerships with Sanctuary during the last year.

Awards and prizes were handed out to residents who have made a particularly significant contribution to their communities during the last 12 months, as well as the winners of Sanctuary’s 2018 garden competition.

Michele Payne, Sanctuary’s resident involvement manager, said: “The event is a celebration of our residents’ commitment to helping shape and improve services and making a positive impact on their communities.

“It was another wonderful occasion, with lots of smiling faces, and we look forward to continuing our work together over the coming year.”

Beryl McIntyre, a Sanctuary resident from Boughton, added: “It was a wonderful day and we all had a very nice time, with lots of interesting information, presentations and a lovely lunch too.”
