Young people in Chester can look forward to a summer of fun thanks to a jam-packed sports programme provided by Sanctuary Housing, local police community support officers and Chester FC.
Taking place at Sycamore Field in Lache, Limewood Field in Kingsway and Wealstone Lane in Upton, the sports sessions will take place throughout August.
The free sessions will run from 1-3pm every Tuesday in Lache, apart from on 8 August, every Wednesday in Kingsway and on three Friday’s in Upton.
Open to young people aged seven to 14 years old, residents will be able to try their hand at a range of sports, including football, hula hooping and rounders, while a Panna Football Cage will be set up during some of the Kingsway and Upton sessions.

Libbie Stock, Sanctuary’s youth engagement officer, said: “A key focus for us is to support our residents in living happy and healthy lives. These sessions will not only be good for the young people’s health and wellbeing but will also give them a chance to have fun, make new friends and learn new skills.”
When are the sessions?
The dates in Lache, Kingsway and Upton are:
- Sycamore Field, Lache – Tuesday 1, 15, 22 and 29 August
- Limewood Field, Kingsway – Wednesday 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30 August
- Wealstone Lane, Upton – Friday 4, 11 and 25 August
