Christa brings curtain down on four decades in Housing

10 May 2021

We’ve said a fond farewell to our long-serving Head of Housing Christa Ripley after 39 years with Sanctuary.

Christa has decided the time is right for her to retire so that she can spend more time with her family.

She joined us in 1982, since when she held a variety of roles including Rent Clerk, Housing Officer, Housing Manager, Head of Customer Services and Head of Operations.

As Head of Housing, Christa’s work with our residents took her across the North and North West of England. She also championed personal safety devices for employees, and these are now used by all of our housing officers.

Christa’s retirement was celebrated with a small number of colleagues at our new Collaboration Hub in Telford, where she was also able to say goodbye to many more via Microsoft Teams.

Simon Clark, Group Director – Housing, said: “Christa has devoted her career to social housing and has made such a difference to the lives of many people.

“It has been a pleasure to work with her and I’m sure I speak for everyone in wishing her a long and happy retirement.”
