Volunteer to be a Rochford committee member today

An opportunity to shape the future of Rochford has arisen for someone who is passionate about making a positive difference in the community.

Sanctuary Housing is looking for a volunteer with a broad range of skills to become an independent member on the Rochford committee.

They will be required to help monitor the services provided by Sanctuary Housing to over 2,000 homes in the local area.

The committee comprises up to 10 members, including five Sanctuary Housing residents, who meet five to six times throughout the year, usually in the afternoon or early evening.

It is responsible for monitoring local operational performance and compliance with the Rochford Charter, which sets out Sanctuary’s commitments to customers.

Emma Keegan, Sanctuary’s managing director in Rochford, said: “Our committees are made up of highly valued people from all walks of life, with various professional skills and life experience.

“I would urge anybody who wants the chance to make changes in the community to get in touch.

The position is unpaid but expenses and full training are provided and it is open to anyone aged 18 or over.

Applicants should have an interest in housing needs, a passion for Rochford as a place to live and work and a desire to make a positive impact on the community.

To apply, email rochford.consult@sanctuary-housing.co.uk and attach a CV and covering letter before 26 January 2019.
