The deadline for residents to apply to the EU (European Union) Settlement Scheme is fast approaching, with applications open until 30 June 2021.
If you’re an EU, European Economic Area (EEA) or Swiss citizen, you and your family can apply to the EU Settlement Scheme to continue to live and work in the United Kingdom beyond that date.
There are some exceptions and all the details are on the Government website.
However, it is taking longer than usual to process applications because of coronavirus and so residents wanting to apply are being encouraged to do so now.
If your application is successful, you’ll get either settled or pre-settled status.
There is a wide range of additional support available online, over the phone or in person to help you apply:
- The app ‘EU Exit: ID Document Check’ can be downloaded to all smartphones (Android and Apple)
- Translated GOV.UK guidance and materials as well as an Assisted Digital service
If you have any questions about your application, you can contact the EU Settlement Resolution Centre on 0300 123 7379. If you are calling from outside the UK, the number is 0044 203 080 0010.
