Bay residents are invited to a special event at Great Parks Community Centre in Paignton to mark the end of the summer, thanks to funding from Sanctuary Housing.
Taking place on Sunday 23 September from 12pm until 4pm, the fun day will host a range of free activities, including Zumba and yoga demonstrations, information about regular activities at GPCC and the chance for young people to get involved in designing parts of the centre’s new nature trail.
Refreshments will be on offer, with volunteers also on hand to have an informal chat with residents about getting involved at GPCC.
“A fun, relaxed event”
Sanctuary’s neighbourhood partnerships manager, Lynne Roberts, said: “GPCC is one of the best-loved community centres in Torbay and the volunteers there play a vital role in its success.
“I would urge all local residents to pop along, there will a variety of activities on offer and it’s set to be a fun, relaxed event.”
“Everyone is welcome”
GPCC’s chairperson, Jenny Day, added: “We’re really excited to hold this event and everyone is welcome to come along and have a great time.”
Jenny’s own dedication to the Torbay community was recognised earlier this year when she was the first recipient of Sanctuary’s Torbay Community Star Awards.
Nominations for the next Torbay Star are now open. Residents can cast their votes online on our nomination form. Nomination forms are available from GPCC and the Crafty Fox Café ‘N’ Hub in Paignton as well as the Acorn Centre in Torquay.
This project is funded by Sanctuary’s Community Investment Fund, supporting projects which benefit Sanctuary residents and their communities.
