Father Christmas was the special guest as families enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon of festive activities in Lache.
Carolling, Christmas crafts and plenty of tasty seasonal treats were on offer during the celebrations at The Venue, in Hawthorn Road, which were organised by Sanctuary Housing, Cheshire West and Chester Council, Cheshire Police and a host of community partners.
More than 200 children met Santa in his grotto, each receiving a chocolate selection box donated by Sanctuary and Chester Voluntary Action. Visitors also enjoyed a short drama production from Minerva Arts and craft and messy play activities run by Lache Children’s Centre, Live, Laugh, Lache and St Clare’s Parent Teacher Association and Pre-School.
The event was part of a wider programme of seasonal activities in Lache, including Christmas dinners, children’s parties and festive film screenings.
Libbie Stock, Sanctuary’s youth engagement officer, said: “It has been wonderful to see so many local families at the events, all with big smiles on their faces and enjoying getting into the seasonal spirit.
“We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who attended and to all our local partners and volunteers who have helped make the Christmas celebrations in Lache such a big success.”
This project was part-funded by Sanctuary’s Community Investment Fund, supporting projects which benefit Sanctuary residents and their communities.
