Festive fun at Blacon Christmas lights switch-on

26 November 2018
The Blacon Lights Switch-On is taking place on Thursday 6 December.

The Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Chester will be the guests of honour as the countdown to Christmas officially gets underway in Blacon.

The Blacon Lights Switch-On is taking place on Thursday 6 December, with Cllr Alex Black and Mrs Janet Black joining residents and staff from Avenue Services to switch on the lights in Western Avenue at 4.45pm.

Residents are then invited to head over to the Christmas tree outside the Parade Enterprise Centre and enjoy some festive refreshments as the lights in the Parade are turned on at 5pm.

Paul Knight, Head of Avenue Services, said: “The lights switch-on is a great way to get the festive season underway in Blacon, and we are delighted that the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress will be joining us for the celebrations.”

Cllr Black commented: “Janet and I would like to say thank you for inviting us to the lights switch-on and wish residents in Blacon a very happy Christmas.

“We are both looking forward to joining residents to switch the lights on.”
