Torbay young people looking for summer holiday activities are invited to get involved in a free programme funded by Sanctuary Housing and delivered by Play Torbay.
Exciting themes with free lunches
A series of events will take place throughout the rest of August, all including free, healthy lunches, with sessions focusing on a range of different themes including water play, sports and multicultural cooking.
Tackling ‘holiday hunger’
As well as encouraging new friendships and social interaction, the programme also aims to address ‘holiday hunger’, an issue faced by many families who may struggle to provide fresh food during school holidays.
Boosting residents’ wellbeing
Sanctuary’s neighbourhood partnerships manager, Lynne Roberts, said: “We are delighted to work with Play Torbay again this year to provide a variety of exciting activities for local young people to take part in.
“Helping to boost the wellbeing of our residents is of paramount importance to us and I am confident that these sessions will help us to achieve that.”
“Come along”
Tanny Stobart, director of Play Torbay, added: “The adventure playgrounds we run around the Bay provide us with ideal locations to run the play days.
“The sessions will be delivered by a qualified senior play worker and I would encourage all local young people to come along.”
Join in
Young people can just drop in to any of the sessions. For more information, contact Play Torbay on 07920 108095.
