Residents in Blacon are taking part in free multi-sports sessions including football, cricket, rounders and dodgeball as part of a programme to get people energised over the summer.
Sanctuary supports Energise Blacon activities
Sanctuary Housing, Avenue Services and Active Cheshire have teamed up to provide the activities as part of the exciting new Energise Blacon programme.
Energise Blacon includes circuit sessions and bootcamps
The programme also includes low-cost beginner circuit fitness sessions and bootcamps for over 18s, which run until the last week of August.
Energise Blacon is part of Sanctuary’s Love Sport programme
Energise Blacon forms part of Sanctuary’s national Love Sport programme, in partnership with Sport England, which is taking place in Blacon and three further Sanctuary neighbourhoods.
Sanctuary’s commitment to the five-year programme, which aims to engage more than 2,250 residents across the country in sport and fitness activities, has been match-funded by Sport England through National Lottery investment.
Meera Murali, Sanctuary Housing’s neighbourhood partnerships officer, said: “Now is the time to get fit, over the warmer summer months, so please do come along to these sessions. All abilities are welcome and we would like to see as many Blacon residents as possible getting energised.”
