Female residents from across Hackney are invited to improve their health and wellbeing at a series of fitness sessions.

Free fitness sessions for females

Funded by Sanctuary Housing, local organisation Empowered Ltd, in partnership with fitness company Shazfit, is leading free female only exercise sessions for residents aged 14 and over.

The programme also aims to build self-confidence and demonstrate that exercise can be done anywhere with minimal or no equipment.

“Happy, healthy and fulfilled lives”

Sanctuary’s neighbourhood partnerships manager, Toby Moore, said: “We are providing funding for these sessions to help our residents to live healthy, happy and fulfilled lives.

“The programme is set to give local female residents a fantastic opportunity to increase health and fitness levels and interact with the Hackney community at the same time.”

“A supportive environment”

Shanaz Begum Ali, manager of Empowered Ltd, added: “We are hoping that the sessions will offer a supportive environment where women can connect with each other and give their fitness a boost.”
