We’ve pledged our support for Gas Safety Week 2016, have you?

At Sanctuary Housing our gas experts carry out annual safety checksgas maintenance, repairs and new installations to our homes all year round. Our Gas Safe registered engineers provide high quality and cost effective gas maintenance repairs and services to our residents.

Staying safe in your home all year round

Many of our residents rely on gas appliances to heat their homes, provide hot water and cook their food. We’ve put together some top tips to make sure you and your family stay safe in your home:

  • Ask to see your engineer’s Gas Safety Register ID card and look at both the front and the back of the card.
  • Use gas appliances for their intended purposes only. Always keep an eye out for warning signs that a gas appliance isn’t working properly – lazy yellow flames, excessive condensation and black marks/stains.
  • Be alert to the symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning. These can be headaches, nausea and dizziness or install an audible carbon monoxide alarm near to your gas appliances.
  • Make sure no air vents or chimneys are blocked.
