Great times are being had by all at a popular Paignton community hub following the launch of a family project earlier this month.
Running at Great Parks Community Centre, the Great Times at Great Parks project – funded by Sanctuary Housing and delivered by Play Torbay – is seeing Bay residents of all ages come together for creative fun.
The free sessions, which run on Thursdays from 4-5.30pm, focus on encouraging families to spend meaningful time with each other through activities such as cooking, creative arts and playing games.
Also included for each family member is a healthy, tea-time meal.
In addition, places are available for parents to attend an accredited Volunteers in Play training course.
Sanctuary’s neighbourhood partnerships manager, Lynne Roberts, said: “We’re really excited to team up with Play Torbay to bring this pilot project to the Bay.
“It follows on from this year’s successful summer holiday programme, and with the current sessions due to finish on Thursday 13 December I would encourage all local families to come along.”
Tanny Stobart, director of Play Torbay, added: “The first few sessions have gone really well, which is a good sign that this sort of project is needed and will continue into the future.”
