Healthy, Happy Week had by all

16 November 2016

Telford residents have been getting in shape with the help of staff from a local retirement living scheme and their annual Healthy, Happy Week.

Sanctuary Housing’s Hartshorne Court, on Burton Street, opened its doors from Monday 7 to Friday 11 November for dozens of people to attend a series of free events aimed at boosting their physical and mental wellbeing.

The week’s activities, which were funded by Great Dawley Town Council, saw visitors receive health checks from Telford and Wrekin Council’s Healthy Lifestyle Hub, take part in workouts at Dawley Park’s outdoor gym, enjoy healthy meals, try some adult colouring and attend a falls prevention class.

Scheme manager Vivienne Chalmers said: “Healthy, Happy Week has been a fantastic success and we were delighted to have seen so many people join us and take part in our wide range of activities.

“The week was a great way for lots of people to find new ways to improve their physical and mental health and meet new people in the process.”
