Home swap event for Shiregreen

14 April 2014

Shiregreen Community Homes residents looking to downsize or exchange homes are invited to a home swap event to find their perfect new home.

As part of Shiregreen Community Homes’ commitment to meeting local residents’ needs, the housing provider, which is part of Sanctuary Group, is hosting a home swap day to allow Shiregreen residents to find out the ins and outs of moving or exchanging their home.

Taking place between 1.30pm to 6.30pm, on Thursday 1 May at Shiregreen Neighbourhood Centre, this free event is open to all Shiregreen Community Homes residents.

The event will also tackle the challenges raised by the new social sector size criteria – also known as the ‘bedroom tax’ – and help answer any questions about welfare reforms. Guests will be able to find out more about mutual exchange and the potential advantages of home swapping, and will have the opportunity to meet with other people looking to exchange their home.

At the event residents can also receive expert housing advice from Shiregreen Community Homes staff.

John Hanson, head of housing, said: “We’d like to invite any of our residents who are interested in home swapping to come along. It’ll be a great opportunity to ask questions and get to grips with what home swapping is really about.”

Residents who want to know if they qualify to make an exchange, need to register their interest by calling 0800 131 3348 (from a land line) or 0300 123 3511 (from a mobile) and ask for the Shiregreen Housing Team for further information.
