Housing employee to complete dementia charity walk

13 July 2015

A Sanctuary Housing employee is preparing for a 10 mile walk in aid of Cambridge-based Alzheimer’s Research UK, the UK’s leading dementia research charity.

Linda Douglas, a lettings officer in Ely, was inspired to sign up to the walk by a friend who is also taking part. The Defeat Dementia Walk will take in the sights of Linton, Hadstock, Hildersham and Great Abington.

A £50 donation from a Sanctuary Housing team dress down day kick started Linda’s fundraising of which her target of £200 has already been reached.

Linda commented: “I am really looking forward to my charity walk. The sponsorship I receive by taking part will help fund vital research in the battle to defeat this condition.”

Tracey Spencer, Sanctuary Housing’s operations manager for the East, added: “I am very proud to hear that Linda is raising money for this worthwhile cause. We wish her luck for the walk.”
