Local MP delighted with new Sanctuary homes in Malpas

MP Antoinette Sandbach visited a new £1.6 million affordable housing development in Malpas to see the work Sanctuary Housing is doing to deliver much needed new homes in the area.

Eddisbury MP visits Sanctuary homes at Ashford Close, Malpas

The Conservative MP for Eddisbury visited the leading housing and care provider’s development at Ashford Close, which comprises 18 two, three and four-bedroom affordable rented properties for local people.

Sanctuary’s development programme in Chester

It forms part of Sanctuary’s wider £31 million development programme in and around Chester that is seeing a total of 230 new homes built with investment from the Homes and Communities Agency.

As part of her visit, Mrs Sandbach also spoke with residents at Sanctuary’s nearby Craddock Court retirement living scheme in Mercer Close. The MP was also able to learn about Sanctuary365, the award-winning telecare service that provides 24-hour support for residents at Craddock Court.

Antoinette Sandbach said: “This was a great opportunity to learn more about Sanctuary and the wide range of services it offers to residents in the Malpas area. It was lovely to meet residents at Craddock Court and spend time talking to them about their homes. I was very pleased to see the results of the very successful flower arranging morning at Craddock Court.

“Sanctuary’s new development at Ashford Close is a welcome boost for the area providing local families with much needed affordable homes, as well as creating numerous jobs and training opportunities through the construction works.”

Craddock Court resident Joan Paterson, aged 94, added: “It was great to meet the MP. I love it here at Craddock Court. The people are so friendly and I have family close by.”
