Makeover for Chester growing space

Volunteers rolled up their sleeves to give our Lache Growing Space in Chester a makeover.

The growing space is one of four community allotment sites in Chester where our residents can grow their own fruit and veg.

Although the site is well used, parts of it needed a little attention after being visited less often during the pandemic.

We organised a ‘Transformation Day’, where our staff were joined by volunteers from businesses and the local community. Together, they cleared overgrown areas, painted fences and picnic tables, resurfaced parts of the site with soft bark and replaced older wooden beds.

Ria Burns, our neighbourhood partnerships manager, said: “We had a brilliant day and would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who got stuck in and lent us their support.”
