New club launches for Torbay youngsters

11 January 2018

Children across the Bay are being urged to get active this month as a new kids club launches at Great Parks Community Centre in Paignton.

Free sessions

Funded by Sanctuary Housing, the free sessions started on Wednesday 10 January and all youngsters aged 5-10 are welcome to come along until the club finishes in June.

Exciting activities

The club offers a range of exciting activities for the attendees to get involved in, including pool, air hockey and dancing, as well as sessions focusing on reading. There is also a tuck shop providing tasty snacks.

“I hope lots of youngsters come along and join in”

Jenny Day, one of the project leaders, said: “With the dark winter nights still well upon us, we want to offer this younger age group a safe, warm place to get involved in fun activities after school. I hope lots of youngsters come along and join in.”

“We’re really pleased to support this brand new club”

Sanctuary’s neighbourhood partnerships manager, Lynne Roberts, added: “We’re really pleased to support this brand new club for children across the Bay, and there is no cost to parents or carers.”

Come along

Great Park Kids’ Club will run 4-6pm every Wednesday at Great Parks Community Centre, Queen Elizabeth Drive, Paignton TQ3 3YN, and there is no need to pre-book. For more information contact Jenny Day on 07816 392489, or call the centre on 01803 524903.

This project is funded by Sanctuary’s Community Investment Fund, supporting projects which benefit Sanctuary residents and their communities.
