A 2019 winner at the Shiregreen Community Awards

Do you have a neighbour who always goes the extra mile? Or know a volunteer who gives up their time to help those in need? Show your appreciation by nominating them for the Shiregreen Community Awards 2020.

Organised by Sanctuary Housing, the awards programme marks the contributions of Shiregreen residents and volunteers who are dedicated to supporting projects and community groups across the area.

This year, there are 10 categories in which local people can cast nominations, including Young Achiever of the Year, Contribution to Sport and Volunteer of the Year.

Each of the winners will be invited to a special event later this year, where they will be presented with a certificate marking their achievement.

Sanctuary’s neighbourhood partnerships manager, Melanie King, said: “As always when we have previously run the Shiregreen Community Awards, we have a fantastic opportunity to recognise the achievements of residents across the neighbourhood.

“I’m confident that the 10 categories on offer mean that the contributions of all unsung heroes in Shiregreen – regardless of age, gender or ability – will be able to be recognised.”

Residents can cast nominations online using our nomination form, with nominations closing on Friday 17 January 2020.

Shiregreen Community Committee will judge all entries and decide the winners.

This event is funded by Sanctuary’s Community Investment Fund, supporting projects which benefit Sanctuary residents and their communities.
