Community projects and residents across Torbay are in line for special recognition and an exciting investment opportunity as part of a local awards programme.
Sanctuary Housing’s Torbay Community Star Awards will see people nominate a Sanctuary-supported project or individual each month over the next year.
The winner for each month will be given the opportunity to donate £100 worth of goods to a community initiative of their choice, as well as being recognised for their contribution to the local area.
The awards run from May 2018 to March 2019 and nomination forms are available from Great Parks Community Centre and the Crafty Fox Café ‘N’ Hub in Paignton as well as the Acorn Centre in Torquay. Alternatively, residents can nominate online using our nomination form.
Nominations for May’s Torbay Star are now open and residents are urged to put forward the Sanctuary-supported project or person they feel has made a real difference to the community.
Lynne Roberts, Sanctuary’s neighbourhood partnerships manager, said: “We want to recognise the efforts of local people and projects in making Torbay a great place to live and work.
“Sanctuary has supported many unsung heroes across the area who go above and beyond in their work. These awards give Torbay residents a way to commend them for this, with the winner then having a fantastic opportunity to donate £100 to another local cause.”
These awards are part-funded by Sanctuary’s Community Investment Fund, supporting projects which benefit Sanctuary residents and their communities.
