Rochford parents are being invited to free sessions offering opportunities to share, explore and learn new parenting skills at Parentalk workshops.
Friendly and informal
The course is set to deliver a range of sessions around issues that can have an effect on parenting a teenager, such as understanding their emotions, staying connected and managing communication and conflict.
The six-week programme will take place 12.30-2.30pm every Tuesday from 7 June at the Megacentre on Brook Road, Rayleigh, with local parents of teenagers welcome to book a place and come along.
“Support to residents in all age groups”
Emma Keegan, Rochford Housing’s managing director, said: “We want to make sure we offer support to our residents across all age groups and the Parentalk project gives us a fantastic opportunity to do that.
“Previous courses have proven to be very successful and I would urge all local parents with teenagers to book a place.”
“It’s about sharing and exploring what works well”
Jamie Sawtell from Megacentre Rayleigh added: “Everyone needs a bit of support sometimes, and we welcome people from all walks of life on our Parentalk courses. It’s not about being told what to do, it’s about sharing and exploring what works well.”
Any local parents of teenagers who are interested in booking a free place on the course can contact Julie Sawford at Megacentre Rayleigh by emailing email@example.com or by calling 01268 779100.
